About Dispatch Network

Dispatch is building Last Mile 2.0 — a full-stack, human-centered logistics platform rethinking how deliveries work at scale. We combine purpose-built EVs, intelligent gig distribution, and a foundational AI model that treats riders, orders, and locations as spatiotemporal tokens to drive real-time, multi-platform delivery decisions. Our proprietary city-scale simulators and simulation-driven engineering approach allow us to test and optimize logistics systems before real-world deployment. At its core, Dispatch is empathy, technology, and design working together to make ultra-fast delivery sustainable for riders, platforms, and the planet.

Why This Role Exists

Most delivery platforms treat riders like dispensable parts of their machine. At Dispatch, every stakeholder matters. You’ll lead engineering to build a system that directly impacts rider livelihoods and platform efficiency.

What You’ll Own

  •  Platform Architecture: Own our microservices landscape (Go, Python) and mobile stack (Kotlin), with a focus on scalability, reliability, and rapid iteration.

  • Communication Layers: Architect real‑time messaging for riders and internal dashboards.

  • Team Growth: Recruit, mentor, and shape a high‑velocity engineering team scaling from 
    ~5 →30+.

  • Performance Metrics: Drive latency, throughput, and uptime targets—because milliseconds equal rupees for riders.

  • DevOps & Infra: Define our CI/CD, container strategy, auto‑scaling, and monitoring on AWS.

  • OSS Engagement: Leverage and contribute to open‑source routing, geospatial, and infrastructure projects.

  • Strategic Partnership: Work hand‑in‑glove with the founders on product roadmaps, fundraising diligence, and long‑term vision.

What We’re Looking For

Must‑haves

  • No minimum experience requirements—if you’ve built it, we want you.

  • Proven delivery: You’ve shipped services or platforms at scale, not just prototypes.

  • Open‑source chops: Meaningful contributions to tools or infra used by others.

  • Expert backend skills in Go and/or Python, with end‑to‑end ownership.

  • Comfort with real‑time or event‑driven systems (or the drive to master them quickly).

  • Excellent communicator who documents and defends architectural decisions.

  • Full‑time onsite commitment in Pune.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in logistics, gig‑economy, or high‑velocity routing.

  • Familiarity with geospatial computation (OSRM, H3, PostGIS, RedisGeo).

  • Mobile development (Kotlin or React Native).

  • Prior leadership or mentoring roles.

  • AWS cost‑efficient infra management.

Our Current Tech Stack

  • Backend: Go, Python

  • Mobile: Kotlin (Android)

  • Infra & DevOps: AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch), Docker, GitHub Actions

  • Routing/Geospatial: OSRM, H3, RedisGeo, PostGIS

  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis

  • Inter‑Service Comms: gRPC (orchestrator ⇄ DroneAI), WebSockets (apps & dashboards)

  • Others: REST APIs, internal simulators, map visualizations

    Microservices and high reliability are baked in from day one.
